Chart Widget

Hello,

It would be beneficial if we could tell chart widgets to suppress 0's, and read higher totals from left to right, in a column chart for example. The only way I can get this to work is to manipulate the metrics behind the scenes by rearranging rows from higher to lesser totals and not capturing the zero totals when selecting data. Am I missing something or is this just the way it is?

Thank you!

You're correct, currently Bar Chart widgets will order the data in the chart based on the order of rows/columns in the source data, and they will show 0's present (unlike Pie or Donut charts).

However, instead of needing to manually manipulate this data, what if you created a helper Report to ensure that your information was presented how you preferred? The Report could only pull rows that are greater than 0, and you could sort the Report so the higher numbers appeared first.

You can use a Report as the source for a Chart, which will automatically select the entire data (versus selecting a specific range in a sheet). Then as the Report updates (such as 0's turning into numbers and auto-pulling into your Report) your dashboard will update. Will this work for you?

    Cheers,

    Genevieve
