Salesforce Connector - Can you insert from a Smartsheet Form into Salesforce to create a case.

Basically we are using Smartsheet forms to collect information. We need to create a unique case in Smartsheet and pass that into Salesforce. So far we can't connect the workflow because Case ID doesn't exist yet in Salesforce. We need the integration to create that record in Salesforce to import that information from Smartsheet.

Any ideas on what we are doing wrong?

Yes, you should be able to have a form create a row in Smartsheet, and the Salesforce Connector create a new Salesforce Case from that row.

There are two things to check to ensure your Connector workflow is configured correctly.

    1. The Salesforce Object should be set to Case

    2. Ensure all fields that are "Required" to create a case are synced in the workflow.

To find out the Required fields, manually create a new case in Salesforce and click "Save" without adding any information. You should receive an error that shows you what's required:

The Case ID field is only one-way (from Salesforce to Smartsheet). The "Salesforce ID" column and the "Sync Status" error column should both not be touched at all in Smartsheet, and shouldn't be in the intake form. These will auto-populate after the connector has run to link to the created case.

If this didn't work for you, can you post screen captures of the error you're receiving, what step of the set-up you're at, and the fields you have mapped?

    Thanks!
