SS costing themselves out of the game!

is it me?? every time I talk to SS about wanting to explore a new function, I feel that every word they utter and certainly every proposal they make comes with a hefty bill attached!!...and these bills are getting bigger. I'm not asking for something for nothing, but I'm teetering on the edge of feeling ripped off, and that never ends well.
