Can a form be used to lookup a sheet and provide a result

Hi - I would like to set up a process whereby I can record the purchase of assets (contained in a sheet as a catalog). I want to then store the purchased asset in a sheet. Ultimately, I may also want to sell the asset.

It would be great if there is a template set that can do this or if someone else has done something similar.

Maybe that wasnt clear so I will provide an example.

1. I want to buy product XYZ and product ABC
2. I dont know the product id etc or price so I want to look up a catalog for product XYZ
3. Once I find the product, I select it and say how many units I want
4. I then do the same thing for product ABC
5. I then want to store the purchase details eg date, vendor etc in my asset register (a smartsheet)
6. At some stage I may want to sell one of my products so I need to look up the different products I'm going to sell and update the status of my assets to show they have been sold

Do you have an example you could share?

You could have a Product List and then use cross-sheet formulas to collect information from it like price and more.

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
