Sending notification once on a date

Hello,

We are using Smartsheet for new hire tracking. Once the new hire has completed everything, a box is checked and their row is moved to a "completed" sheet. I'd like to send a one time notification to their email but not before their start date.

I'm not completely sure how using "When a date is reached" will behave as a trigger. It will let me reference the hire date field, but will it continue to send a notification even after the date? I've tried to research how that trigger behaves but did not find any concrete information.

You can set when it occurs using the drop down. So you could choose "x" number of dates after that date in the hire date field
