how to copy one cell value to another in workflow
Hi all,
In a workflow if a trigger occurs I would like to copy the value of "cell A" to "cell B".
This seems not to be possible or is there a workaround?

Is it on the same row? Is the other cell empty?

no, the target cell is not empty
Situation:
- Ticket system
- contact cell "worker" contains programmers contact
- Status changed to "test"
- workflow should copy contact cell "responsible" to contact cell "worker"

Yes, it helps, but unfortunately, it's not possible natively without some helper columns or a 3rd party service like Zapier.
Would it work if we add helper columns?

a helper column is a great idea, how would make this?

I think you could add a master contact column with a formula referencing the other two main columns and use the Workflow to change those, which would show the correct one in the master.
Something like that.
Make sense?

yes, this could make sense, but I built some reports and filters etc in this ticket system which will has to be modified.
In the meantiem I decided to send an Update Requests to the responsible person to manually change this field. Not perfect but will work.
