A way to calculate hours over timeframes
I don't have a portfolio management software where I work, but I am still trying to do a little portfolio management.
I want to figure our hour estimates by month for different resources. For example in my attached picture, i want to see how many hours IT will work on projects per month. Is there someway to automatically look at the requested start and end date of a project, then how many hours IT has, and divide it by month into the requested timeframe? The goal is to know how many hours each department is working on projects by month. Then combine all the estimates to say for example, that in January, IT is committed to 100 hours of project work.

Hi Marc,
Have you tried a report with summarize fields applied? You could filter the report by specific start and end dates, or last 30 days/next 30 days, etc. And you could summarize average, count, min, or max hours per department?
