Creating a hyperlink to an item that is not a URL?
Our document management system has a method to create hyperlinks to documents. The link looks like this:
iwl:dms=taft-dms.imanage.work&&lib=IT&&num=6509525&&ver=1&&latest=1#Doc Num:6509525
Smartsheet does not work with this, because it is not a URL
I currently use tinyurl to make this into a URL, which Smartsheet can work with.
Is there a way to make smartsheet treat this as a link? If I put this value into an Excel cell, it works properly.
In fact, any Microsoft product interprets this and executes the action. Pasting it into the address bar of any browser also does what is expected.

What you're currently doing (using another application to change this into a URL) is what I would recommend, since Smartsheet won't be able to recognize this as a link. Please submit your feedback to our Product team about these types of links by filling in this form, here!
Thanks,
Genevieve
