Project schedule regarding crew size

In Microsoft project I am able to add crew sizes. When I change the crew sizes, it adds days or subtract days from the duration. Does Smartsheet do the same?

I'm not 100% on this but I feel like if you use formulas in the columns you could accomplish the same thing.

My answer would be both yes and no. You could use formulas to adjust the durations based on crew sizes entered in another column, but then you would have to use formulas to also adjust the dates which can get tricky if you are wanting to include predecessors, holidays, etc.

Or you would have to just manually adjust the duration.

Either way it is not currently a feature that is built into Smartsheet. Feel free to Submit a Product Enhancement Request when you have a moment to let them know that there is actual interest in a feature like this.

@Paul Newcome but the dates already change when the duration are changed. Also, in settings the holidays and weekends are already taken out as well. So would it matter if duration is the only thing that changes? or would it work better if I create 2 other columns and do it like that?

I can but it helps to adjust by crew sizes. its nice that it gives the duration adjustment when adding or subtracting more guys. it speeds up the process.

Honestly , this is something that's just for show and does not really mean anything until the dates come. then you can adjust accordingly with man power.

The problem is that having the duration automatically linked to the dates/holidays/etc. mean that you have dependencies turned on. You cannot enter formulas into columns that are being used in the dependency settings (including the duration column).

Yes, but that column would not be directly linked to your dates.
