Hide sheets in Smartsheet Browser (left column)
I need to be able to hide an entire Sheet from some users. I need them to view the filtered data from the Sheet in the Report. I have to give them View Only access to the Sheet in order for them to see the data in the Report, but I don't want them to be able to find/view the Sheet from the left hand column Smartsheet Browser because it is unfiltered.
I have a Dashboard / landing page with two links. One is to the Report that displays the data. That's as far as I want them to go. I don't want them to be able to open the left hand column Smartsheet Browser and navigate to the Sheet directly.
Thank you!

Unfortunately that is not currently possible. Have you looked into the Dynamic View add-on?

Ah. In that case you could include a rich text widget on the dashboard with that note and any other instructions you may want to provide.

Thank you, Paul. I was afraid of that.
Yes, I like the extreme flexibility of the Dynamic Views, but this is a site that needs to display images and Dynamic Views will not display images. If the user knows to click on the row to then see the row details, they can see the images. But at present, we need the images to show without extra clicking because the public users will not know to do that.

Hi @Glenn Meyer
I hope you're well and safe!
To add to Paul's excellent advice/answer.
Another option would be the premium app, WorkApps (available for Enterprise plans and higher)
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic day!

@Andrée Starå I always forget about WorkApps. Great idea!

I quickly set up a WorkApp adding only the dashboard and the report, but not the underlying sheet. Assigned a view only role. Added my external private email address to the role. Published it. From the link to the WorkApp in the email I received, I can cannot see the underlying sheet. However, if I simply log into Smartsheet.com with the same credentials needed to create the external account, then I can see the sheet still and have access to items I don't want the external users to view. If I remove the view only access to the sheet, then through the WorkApp, the Report is blank.
Am I missing a feature in the WorkApp that would allow me to view the data in the Report and still not allow access to the sheet?
Thank you for your help!

Thanks! Yes, easy to miss!
