If you run your schedule out of Smartsheet, how do you hand attaching checklists to certain tasks? For instance, we might want to add a Q/A checklist to a flooring installation task to check for items like finish, correct item installed, clean/well-done, etc. I would rather not add additional rows to the sheet to accomplish this due to the length of our schedule sheets.

    Great question! I'd recommend creating a separate Sheet for your Q/A checklist. There are lots of ways you can then reference back to the checklist from your schedule. You could put a link to your checklist in the schedule or create a WorkApp where they both live for example.

    I'd definitely recommend creating a Workspace for your project if you haven't already and storing all related sheets, reports, and dashboards in that Workspace.

    Is there any way to prevent the completion of the task without completing the checklist?

  • You could create a formula that checks the completion of the other sheet and checks a box or marks a status as "Complete" if everything is done.

    If you have a ton of projects though it will be tough to scale this. You'd want to look into Control Center.
