"Favorites" background turned gray - can't see text

Hello,

Forgive me if this is day 1 learning here, but a few days ago my favorites list turned grey and I can no longer see text (unless I'm hovered over the selection when it gets highlighted).

As far as I know, I did nothing to make this change. None of my other menu options (history, notifications etc...) changed and are all still white.

Any ideas?
