Fields with formulas not editable in update request

Hi,

I have some symbol fields that were previously editable on an update request. However after adding some formulas to these fields (to give them a default value but to allow the user to change later), these fields are no longer editable in the update request. Is it the case that if a field has a formula it will not be editable in an update request? Thanks.

Yes, it's not possible to update a field with a formula in an Update Request.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Add a so-called helper column to change the value and combine it with the change cell action and reference it in the main column.

@Andrée Starå thanks for the suggestion. So just to understand; if a cell is changed by an automated cell change action, the same cell would still be editable via an update request?
