Exporting Smartsheet to CSV (for JIRA import) without losing our comments
We have a team using Smartsheet that will be moving to JIRA in the coming months.
I have seen here that one my export a Sheet as an Excel file, but the comments come on a second tab. In order to import this to JIRA, it will need to be in CSV format which can only support one tab.

While we can make the CSV comprised of just the first tab, we also do not want to lose our comments which is how many of our developers track their progress and work.
Is there a solution which will allow for us to properly export our Smartsheet instance to be imported to JIRA with most of our data including the comments?

Hello @JeffA
In reference to what was mentioned in that relevant community post: https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/70152/export-ss-report-sheet-via-csv, at this time, sheets cannot currently be exported directly into a CSV type of file, as the Comments/Conversations are saved in a second tab in an Excel document which is not supported in CSV.
You will want to first export to an Excel document, then from there you can re-save the file as a CSV file, selecting only the desired tab (which in your case, the Comments tab).
The Help Article below has more details on exporting & the different file types supported.
In the meantime, it's good to know how you're using Smartsheet and what you require... if you have a moment, please fill out our Enhancement Request form to provide your feedback to our Product team directly about this functionality to be considered for future development.
Cheers!

Hi Karissia,
I was disappointed that there were not direct methods to accomplish this goal, so I will definitely fill out an Enhancement Request form.
For others that find this, I was able to get
a bit of help online to make some VB script which takes the comments from tab 2 of an Excel file and transposes them to the first tab in the Excel file in accordance with what JIRA requires for importing CSV files with comment bodies.
