SmartSheet User Groups usable and viewable by anyone?


Hello - I was surprised to see that a user group is able to be used by any licensed user in SmartSheet, including sharing and communications. Is there any way to make a user group only accessible to the group owner and system administrators?

Also, when sharing content to a group is there a way to disallow shared users from seeing the other shared users?

    Group Owners and System Admins are the only users able to create and edit groups, but yes you are correct, Groups are built to be used by any member in that plan:

    • Anyone on the same Smartsheet plan as the group can click the group name and select View Group Members to reveal the email addresses and names of its members. Anyone not on the Smartsheet plan will only be able to see the group name, unless they are a member of the external group.
