Document builder mappings transferring on template?

If I build a document where I set up a range of fields and map them to the PDF creator. If I then save that file as a template and create a new document, the mappings I created don't seem to follow it.

This appears to also be the case for if you 'Save as new', as it doesn't seem to remember any of the mapping I created.

Is there anyway to get this to work?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!
