Dynamically emailing a contact updates for just rows assigned to them
Hi all,
Our Project Managers are running renovation projects at 300 plus buildings, each project has a single unique row all contained in the Active Projects Sheet The email address for each building manager is kept in a contact column.
I'd like to set up an automation that will update them on the construction status for just the projects in their building on a weekly basis. I know I can set up notifications at any given interval, but I don't think setting up 300 notifications makes sense, nor is it dynamic as at any given time only around 40%-50% of the buildings will have active projects, but some buildings may have multiple projects ongoing.
Ideally Monday at 8:00 Smartsheet would look at the contact (other other unique identifier) and send an update message with the 3 or 4 columns of info I would like send.
This one has me stumped, any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
J

So. Many. Questions.
Let's start here. Is your Active Projects Sheet by company or by building? From the comment about 300 notifications, it sounds like by building, but don't want to assume.
What you could do instead might be - create a report that connects all of your sheets, then display the critical fields, filter by active, and time gates, and have the report emailed on the weekly intervals.
If that explanation isn't quite connecting, let me know and I'll try to explain it better. This is a method I use when I'm trying to do mass notifies, but the data is too siloed to make the notification automation process worthwhile.
