Support for Expand/Collapse in for a Grouped Report Embedded in a Dashboard

I have a report with groupings. Whether or not those groupings are set to be expanded or collapsed in the report, when I embed that report in a dashboard the report is fully expanded. And there is no way to collapse it in the dashboard. The expand/collapse arrows are missing.

There is a Collapse Grouped Report setting in the dashboard, but when I use that, the actual rows of data do not appear, only the groupings.

Is there any way to get the expand/collapse arrows to appear for a report embedded in the dashboard and for the report to appear collapsed by default?

Hi @Mark Salamon

As you've found, the Report Widget can be customized to either only show the Summary rows or to have them open, but there currently isn't a way to have them be adjustable through this widget.

If you want to be able to expand/collapse from the Dashboard, you can Publish the Report and use the Publish Link to embed it in the Dashboard as a Web Content Widget. As long as the Report is configured to have the rows collapsed by default, this is how it will appear in through the Published link.

I do wish there was more configuration of the report that was published, like hiding the Comment pane. (I know others have raised that issue.)
