Associate a task with a row on another sheet?

I have two sheets; Events and Tasks. I'd like to be able to associate a Task row with an Events row so that I can group tasks by the event. Is that possible in SS? (I'm used to Airtable where this is easy, but maybe it's done some other way here).

Do you have anything unique that we could use to "connect" the task and events together?

If yes, it sounds like we could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
