Refreshing the dashboard via any onscreen control

Hi Guys. I have a dashboard with a drop down which on selecting any value refreshes a report on the same dashboard as per the selected value. Is there a way to refresh the dashboard via a button/link (something on the dashboard itself) instead of manually clicking refresh or reloading the page?

There is not other than setting up the dashboard to auto-refresh. I believe the shortest time span you can set it for is every minute.
