Why is copy and paste adding characters?

I am trying to copy and paste rows over from Excel to Smartsheets. It does work; however, it is adding extra characters to smart sheet.

I attached a picture so you can see. Here is the original excel, and then what it looks like in Smartsheet.

Is there any work around this?

    Since Smartsheet and Excel are separate programs there can be differences when data is copy/pasted from one to the other. What type of data in the excel file is turning into characters in Smartsheet, is it possible that there is a formula in excel that Smartsheet doesn't recognize?

    Would you be able to post the excel file you're using with sample data? I'd like to test this on my own account to see what could be the cause.
