Workflow trigger for condition not met

I want to setup a workflow to send an email when a comment is added, except if it is added by 'me' [Created by]. I want this to apply regardless of who the user is.

Is this possible?

Each user can set their own notification preferences for if they want see alerts that were triggered by their own change:

See: Adjust your personal account settings

However this is a personal setting, so you won't be able to force this setting based on the workflow. Does that make sense?

An alternative would be to set up conditions in your workflow and specify who exactly should receive the alert, but this would only make sense if you had a small number of collaborators to alert.
