Would you know other ways to cell link projects to a database other than manual intervention?
How would you link cells from your project to a database without too much manual intervention?
Coz every week I need to cell link each new project to our database for my report and dashboard, but I have to do cell link one by one, is there an easier way how to do it?

You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Can you please teach me how to use the VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH ?
Or at least give a tutorial or example how this works?
thank you in advance @Andrée Starå

Happy to help!
Here you go.
= INDEX({ColumnWithTheValueYouWantToShow}; MATCH(CellThatHaveTheValueToMatch@row, {ColumnWithTheValueToMatchAgainsTheCell}; 0))
Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.

is it possible to index a column from a different sheet if you dont have a value to match it with?
im trying to work around the 500 cell linking limit, which makes a lot of manual effort.
i would appreciate any help.

Hi @artrubio
I hope you're well and safe!
Here's one way you can do it.
You could use cross-sheet formulas combined with either a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH structure to connect the sheets, and when you update the source sheet, it will reflect on the destination sheet.
To connect them row by row, you'd use an Autonumber Column in the Source sheet and add a so-called helper column to manually add the row id on as many rows as you think you need in the Destination sheet.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!
