Suggestion for update requests
It would be really useful if the text, timing and recurrence of update requests could be amended after setting them up. This would allow the requests to be a more substantial and reliable tool for on-going communication with project leads.
I quite often have relatively lengthy instructions/guidance attached to the requests that are sometimes tailored to the individual user. At the moment I have to delete the whole request and set up from scratch if I want to change something (e.g. move from weekly requests to monthly).
Even better, beyond this it would be great if there were more visibility of the requests that are sent to each user so that these could be coordinated and to smooth the communications process again.

Hi Chris, I can see how that could be useful. No doubt the support team will have noted that for the upgrade voting system. Do you currently get the most out of the Discussion feature which is good for dialogue with project leads and maintains an audit trail? That works for lots of our clients and ourselves internally.

Yes, really like the discussion features.
The advantage of the update requests is that as they work through email they are better for people who are less tech savvy (you wouldn't believe how many people around here don't understand the concept of an online discussion!). The automation and schedulling is also useful as it gives a helpful framework for seeking regular input.

Hi Chris, I do see how it would be beneficial to edit the text included in the recurring update request! I will pass your feedback along to our product team. For now, you can update the timing and recurrence by opening the update request menu (click on the icon on the row containing the request), right click on the request and select Edit Recurrence. If you had to change the wording you would need to create a new update request.

Thanks for the info - knowing I can update the recurrance is half the job at least!

I use regular weekly update requests in our project timkeeping system and have been able to modify things as the situation requires including the text, timing and recurrence. Rather than put a lengthly comment in the comment field when I create the reminder, I put the body of the text in a cell in the row that will be included in the email with just a brief note in the comment field to see the instructions below. I send the same message to everyone so the instructions are entered in one row at the top and then referenced by the rows that will be included in each email. To change the recurrence you click on the reminder logo and then on the Sent To down-arrow in the top line of the popup window. Using this approach I can change the weekly instructions simply by editing one text cell at the top of my sheet. Unfortunately, changing the timing requires editing each reminder one at a time.
