Updating a Timestamp

I have some historical data that I uploaded into my sheet that I need to change the auto timestamp for so my calculations are accurate. Is there a way to update a cell with a timestamp in it? It won't let me update it at all... thanks!

Timestamps can only track date/time created or date/time modified. Do you need a time in addition to date? Or is date sufficient on its own?

Also, is the column in question a date created? Or a date modified?
