Rows Weighted Differently for % Complete of Parent Task
We have a bunch of tasks in our smart sheet timeline that are weighted differently to determine the percent complete of a parent task. Am I somehow able to say that row 5 is only 20% of the parent task, but row 6 is 40% of the parent task, and have that calculate towards the total percent complete of the parent task accordingly once that row is complete?

Hi @chlod24
Smartsheet has an AVGW function that you can use to average values with a weight, see: AVGW Function
However if you're using the Parent Rollup functionality that's built in to Project Settings, this will automatically create a weighted average based on the duration of each task, see: Parent Rollup Functionality
Here are some other Community posts that you may find helpful as well:
- Manual % complete formula in the parent row
- Formula for parent row that calculates % of child rows, based upon date durations
Cheers,
Genevieve
