Recover a Deleted Column

I got an email that a column of data was deleted, I did not intend to do that. I went to Sheet, there's no "undo" option available, no back up option to reload, how do I get that column of data back? I find it hard to believe it's gone forever. Are they not backed up into the cloud automatically?

You can check the Activity Log, and maybe you could request a Snapshot from the deleting of the Column.

I also deleted the data from a column within a sheet with 5016 rows. I must find a way to restore it instead of fixing each cell history individually. Where is "Activity Log" so I can find a Snapshot.

I have an urgent need to recover a column containing crucial information. I attempted to take a snapshot, but it only displays the individuals who made changes rather than the actual content within the column. Could you please assist me with this matter? It's of utmost urgency, and I must retrieve the column's information at any cost. Thank you very much for your help.

Hey @Andrée Starå how are you? Do you have a method for deleted columns by an admin, to bring them back in the sheet?

Hi. I had the same problem and solved it as follows:
-I had the “Schedule periodic backup” option enabled for the folder to which the sheet with the problem belongs.
-I searched for the most recent backup and downloaded it to my computer.
-I opened the excel file of the sheet with the problem.
-In Smartsheet, in the sheet with the problem, I created an empty column with the name of the column I had deleted.
-I copied the cells from excel to Smartsheet manually (copy/paste, 500 cells max each time).
