Can I add/update rows across multiple sheets within a workspace?

I'm wondering if it is possible to add or update rows within multiple sheets in a workspace?

To provide further context, we currently manage projects by using a large checklist within a sheet. Often we will have a company process change and the only way I know to update the process for each project is to open individual sheets and add /change / remove the individual rows. Is there some way to have, for example, a master template sheet that once updated, the changes will be reflected on all sheets in the workspace?

Thank you!

    Hi @Laurie R

I hope you're well and safe!

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

    • You could set it up, so you have a master sheet connected to each project sheet, and you could add so-called placeholder rows to add rows later, but you'd have to use a filter/report not to show the rows that are not used.
    • The best option would be the Premium App, Control Center that was made for this. Is that an option?

Would any of those options work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

  • Thanks @Andrée Starå

I assume based on your response the functionality I asked about isn't possible?

I'm not sure the placeholder rows would work for me as I'm not sure where the additional step/s in the workflow would be making it difficult to have placeholder rows.

I wondering if maybe I'm asking too much of Smartsheet.

    I appreciate your assistance.
