Automations and value of cell with empty-full dropdown
How do I use an automation to interrogate or change the value of a cell that contains the empty to full dropdown status indicators?
When I set it as a condition, Smartsheet gives me a blank box. Do I just enter the descriptor text or the status?
When I add a change value action, that column is not available.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now because the Change Cell Action doesn't support Symbols, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
Here's a possible workaround or workarounds
- You could add a so-called helper column, and the Symbol column would reference it. You'd need to add multiple Workflows to change the different Symbol options.
