How to group items in a column with the same name to show how many of each in the column?

I have an order list that I put together to gather office supply needs in my section. The column I am referring to in this question is called "supplies needed" and it contains a single dropdown list of things such as a monitor, docking station, desk, chair, etc. I want to have a way of showing how many of each item is on the list. I also have a column next to it that contains details related to the item (ie. 24 inch monitor, ergonomic chair, space mouse), and I would like to have that column included as well, if possible. Any suggestions on how I can do this?
