When sharing a smartsheet can I allow certain people to see certain things other cant?

I am wanting to have confidential information in my smartsheet but I need to send it to people outside of my organization. Can I send the smartsheet to them without allowing them to see that information without having to make a separate smartsheet ? I'm aware I can lock it and allow certain people to edit it but I'm looking for more advanced settings if allowed. Thank you.

    Hi,

You can create reports for specific 'view' of the sheet, and based on that share one version of the report to some of the viewers, and another version of the report to a second set of viwers.

Doing that you can only include a specific set of columns/rows.

    Hi @Bryannadvis

I hope you're well and safe!

To add to Etienne's excellent advice/answer.

Do they need to be able to edit or only view the information?

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

    • Using Update Requests or Alerts
    • Premium App, WorkApps
    • Premium App, Dynamic View
    • A solution I developed I call, Dynamic View Light.

Would any of those options work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!
