Smartsheet and Resource Management Connectivity
I know how to update my sheets and upload the changes to Resource Management. I am looking to just update the Resource Management schedule (start and end dates, assigned to, etc.) directly and have the edits carry over to the sheet it affects. I have been told at least by a smartsheet representative and read online that it is possible but for some reason I cannot get it to work. Has anyone had this issue and then resolved it? If so, I would love to know how. Thanks!

Hi @gpm
You are correct that there are certain updates that should automatically sync into Smartsheet from your Resource Management project that's linked to that Smartsheet sheet.
Updating the Assigned To and the Dates should automatically sync into your sheet if it's connected properly, however keep in mind that Parent rows in Smartsheet cannot be updated. Additionally, assigning a task to a person who does not exist in Smartsheet won't update the sheet.
Here's the Help Article that has two charts detailing the types of changes that are supported automatically and the types of changes that won't update your sheet: Sync Resource Management assignments with Smartsheet
Take a look at these charts and let me know if I can clarify anything further!
Cheers,
Genevieve

Genevieve, thank you for the response!
I figured out how to sync with that link!
However, I can update the 'Assigned to' but for some reason the dates (start and end) associated with that task cannot be updated and the change reflected in the sheet. The picture attached is an example of a sheet I would like to edit in resource management. It lets me update the names/resources (high lighted in yellow) in the "Assigned To" like mentioned earlier but does not let me update the dates (circled in red) in resource management. Is this because of the predecessors in the parent row?
I just find it odd that I can update the name and not the dates but that could be a gross misunderstanding on my part of the definitions of parent and dependent rows.
Let me know if that makes sense.

Hi @gpm
The reason those dates don't update is because they're in Parent Rows. This is indicated by the minimize sign next to the Task Name... they have indented Child Rows below them.
I hope that helps!
Cheers,
Genevieve
