Inventory Update Via Barcode?
I am new so bear with me.
I am working on my Inventory process. I created a sheet that contains my inventory information. To keep up with inventory, I added a workflow that states on XXX day every month all rows that have a removal date less than XXX date, will be copied over to a new sheet named Asset Inventory. From the new sheet, I want to create a workflow to request an update from people that have inventory assigned to them. All of my inventory has unique barcodes assigned to them. Can the workflow be set up so that when the barcode is scanned that row is highlighted or a box is checked, the scan date is added, or something is done to show that the items are accounted for? I am open to suggestions. There has to be a way to authenticate the item.
Thank you!

Hi @S.Armstrong
Yes! You can set up a Workflow in Smartsheet to automatically add Today's Date when an action has happened (e.g. a cell has been updated). See: Set the current date with the Record a Date action.
There's a Change Cell workflow if you'd prefer to Check a Box: Change the Value of a Cell in an Automated Workflow
You can also use Conditional Formatting rules to highlight cells with data versus ones without, see: Conditional Formatting
If this hasn't helped, would you be able to post a screen capture of the sheet you're working in (blocking out sensitive data) with an example row set up how you'd like?
Thanks!
Genevieve
