Creating a Calculator

Hi All -

I'm trying to create a calculator in SmartSheets. I'm envisioning it as a pseudo GUI that leverages data from different sheets that we've populated, whereby we input values into this calculator, and it calculates based on predefined equations. There's ways to get close to it through a form or directly in a sheet, but I'm looking for something a little more centralized/with an interface of sorts where we can see the results change on screen & in real-time.

I've done a fair amount of Googling and haven't been able to come up with anything. Is there some sort of API, APP, etc. that I can leverage

    Hi @Mike Rini

I hope you're well and safe!

    Interesting!

There's the Smartsheet API and also 3rd-party integrations that might work.

    Can you elaborate even more?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!

  • Hey @Andrée Starå sure. Basically, the way we have it setup now is in an Excel spreadsheet where we can adjust things manually. The adjustment in the example below would normally be CVR, and in Excel, it'll obviously update the result (Expected Conv) automatically based on the formula without moving off the page. That's the type of functionality I'm looking to emulate. If I can, then I can tie in the other sheets to it, with other variables to make the equation more complex.

Essentially, I can do this in Excel, but I'm looking for a SmartSheets implementation b/c that's where we have everything.

  • @Andrée Starå just following up and wondering if you had any additional thoughts here. Just looking to come up with a more creative solution than linking a Google Sheet.

HI @Mike Rini, did you ever end up finding a solution for this? Looking to do something similar, but all I have so far is linking everything to a google sheet. Thank you!
