Permissions to View Report without access to Source Sheet or seeing comments

I'd like to give someone access to a report without giving them access to view the source sheet, but it seems like I have to grant them access to the source sheet to see information within a report using that sheet. The only exception I can find is if I publish the report and share the URL. The problem with that is the comments are available, and I don't want the comments available in the report.

Is there any way to share a report without sharing the source sheet? Also, is there any way to share a report (either by directly sharing or the published URL) where the comments can be made unavailable? I found how to hide them but it seems like they can still be viewed by anyone with the URL or access to the report.

    Hi @Bethany Garcia!

I was in the same situation last year. I would suggest creating a dashboard and add the report to the dashboard. When you share the dashboard with the users they can see the report without having access to the sheet. The only limitation is that they cannot make any changes to the data (which they could have done on the report directly if they had edit access).

    I hope this helps!
