One idea. Add a widget to the Dashboard and then have a "switch" that, until "checked", a formula would hide the text or something similar.

Would that work/help?

@Andrée Starå, thanks for the suggestion. I worked with this and using a report was able to show/hide the text. Unfortunately, because the hyperlink that is involved is active whether or not the text is visible. I think I am just going to hold off on this until we get the Enterprise version which should be soon as I will be able to handle it using roles in WorkApps.
