Graphs & Charts
Hello,
I surveyed my high school business students to determine their experience level with certain Microsoft apps. I'd like to reflect these results in a graph or chart on my dashboard. Example: What percentage of students answered "Experienced" -- then represent that data in a pie chart.
TIA for your guidance!

Hi @Mr. Mac
Yes, Grouping and Summary in Reports requires a Business or Enterprise account.
If you're on a Pro Plan, you can get these same numbers in a different way. Create a new sheet as a "Metric" sheet for your Dashboard. Then you can use formulas to gather data. For example:
=COUNTIF({Microsoft Excel Column}, "Experienced")
Here's more information on formulas:
- Create cross sheet references to work with data in another sheet
- Create a Cell or Column Reference in a Formula
- COUNTIF Function
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @Mr. Mac
The easiest way to do this based on your sheet would be to create a Report!
Then Group your Report by a specific column (e.g. "Microsoft Excel") and apply a Summary to COUNT how many rows are in each group.
Once you have both Grouping and Summary applied, you can then use the Report as a source for your Pie Chart. A Pie Chart will automatically create percentages out of those Counts.
Here's a webinar that you may find helpful: Redesigned Reports with Grouping and Summary Functions
And here are Help Articles on these features:
- Configure grouping to organize results in report builder
- Summarize content to extract key information with report builder
Cheers,
Genevieve
