Export with ALL comments
I can't seem to find a way to include all comments in an export to Excel. The export only shows the latest comment or set of comments. Pulling a row report doesn't give an option to include comments. And the Conversations view doesn't give a way to export all the comments from that angle, either. Any ideas to gather all comments?

Hi @mdcatlett
The second tab of your Excel document should show you all the comments on the sheet. For example, I have a number of test comments on row 5:
Then in the Excel export on the Comments tab I can see all the comments for that row:
The oldest test comment on this row is from 2020 and it shows up in the export. See: Export to Microsoft Excel
Cheers!
Genevieve

I replicated this and I see your point. I am also unaware how to do it. I upvoted your question.

I notice that on the Excel export, the row number on the Comments tab correspond to the row number in Smartsheet, not the project plan tab in Excel. So there is no way to associate the comment with the task in Excel. Any suggestions?

Thank you, @Genevieve P. There must have been a glitch when I attempted this last year (no Comments or Summary tabs on the Excel export). All the comments are definitely there in this last one!

@Felix C I managed to fix it by inserting a new column type # auto number named row id (default) so the excel export also the includes the Smartsheet row id number.

I believe the obvious lack of relational data between the two is a business decision, as it's an exit barrier for those wanting to switch. I can't think of any other reason.
