Plus sign in front of a cell value

We just noticed a plus sign appeared in front of a value in a sheet and when you click on it, it becomes a minus. How did it get there? What does it mean and how do we remove?

Hi @Alta

If you don't want to click on the + sign to expand the Child Rows, I would suggest right-clicking on the column name, then selecting Expand All.

Then you can see all the rows indented below your current one!

It sounds like it's the Hierarchy feature. (Parent/Children).

Sorry but that just indented the cell content. It didnt remove the plus/minus sign. Any other suggestions?

I watched the video but it doesnt change anything. No matter what I do that plus/minus stays there.

Ensure that you don't have any activated filters and that you've expanded the + signs completely.

I dont know what you mean by expanded the plus sign. I removed all filters. if I then indent or outdent it creates more pluses and minuses so I just undid that.
