Order Many Values in Control Center Modify Column Global Update UI?
Hi all, this seems like an easy one if there is a way to do it, but I have not found a way.
In Control Center -> Global Updates -> Modify Column -> A dropdown list column ...
Let's say you have a lot of values in this list column and you need to add ONE, but only one and it has to be #1 in the dropdowns rather than #12, which seems to be the number an added value becomes when I try this.
Is there any way to control the ordering of the values in this view of control center when you paste in a value?
Also, I've not found an easy way to paste or enter a group of values into this UI.
Is anyone aware of a preferred browser or approach I can use to perform this common task? In the image below, the cursor lands in different places, depending on the browser width. And that's the number new additions usually get - 12 or 8 or 2. I can't find a way to put items into spot #1 without removing all of the values and replacing them one-by-one since I cannot paste the full group as separate options.

Hi @uwft,
I've been able to reproduce what you report and this occurs regardless of which browser I was using, Chrome is always preferred for Smartsheet functionality. I'm afraid that there isn't a direct way to interact with the tags that are created as dropdown options and you'd need to manually enter all values in the desired order as this can't be changed thereafter.
With regards to copying and pasting, a similar behavior occurs, this is due to the fact that each value creates a tag and it is no longer plain text that allows much interaction such as copy and paste.
When you have a moment, please submit your feature request to the Product team by creating an Idea post in the Smartsheet Product Feedback and Ideas topic.
Posting your enhancement in the Community will allow other Smartsheet users to see and vote on your idea! The top-voted posts in this category are reviewed monthly by the Product team and you'll receive an email notification if a status changes for a post you've created or voted on.
I hope that this can be of help.
Cheers!

Thanks, @Julio - is the enhancement request / feedback form no longer monitored? I've submitted so many posts there! Hoping that this would be reviewed only if it's top-voted seems not worth the effort.
I'll also say that the work I've done observing this and writing it up, and that the work you've done reproducing the issue, is all effort wasted if no one is going to look at it.
Bummer about this is issue is I'd bet that for the relatively small but robust collection of projects I'm maintaining in this way -- it'd probably be easier to update each sheet manually than to use the global update.
Thanks for looking though. Glad I'm not missing something.

Hi @uwft
Just jumping in here to explain about the new Product Feedback category - you're welcome to use the Feedback Form as well, the content submitted through the form is still reviewed by the Product team.
However the new area in the Community allows for members to vote on each other's ideas! This helps the Product team quickly identify what features are beneficial for multiple customers. It also allows you to keep track of previous requests, as you can log in to the Community to see all of your Ideas instead of submitting the form to a hidden sheet. Additionally, if you find other Ideas that you agree with, you can vote on those as well instead of submitting something new.
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @uwft - I am "enjoying" this challenge today, wondering if you ever entered a feedback/idea that I could vote for?
