Clear your throat, take a deep breath, and yell CONGRATS! as loud as you can because @Aaron Manley is our November Member Spotlight! Aaron is a Community Champion, recent ENGAGE Template Contest winner, and an all-around awesome guy.

Aaron lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the United States, and is an Engineer III at Williams. He's also a self-admitted "boundary-pusher" when it comes to business tools, and it's no different with Smartsheet. In fact, the Quantity-based Earned Value Tool he and a coworker developed helped him get to his current role (and won the aforementioned Template Contest, if I can brag about it for him once again).

"Smartsheet by default is a collaboration tool and what really makes it shine and what SO many people get value from is the ability for collaboration to happen easily," he says. His favorite features? Automations and Forms. "If you don't believe me, take your sheet, build out an Automation and a Form, then throw in a Dashboard, and I guarantee you have a killer solution that took you only a fraction of time to create."

As for the Smartsheet Community, Aaron describes it as "the ultimate Ask Jeeves but filled with fantastic people willing to help at the drop of a hat," leading to meaningful conversations on how Smartsheet and customer needs can come together for the greater good.

In addition to his many roles, Aaron is a husband and father of four (oldest is seven, his twins are four, and the youngest is one). They love playing board games together, like Gloomhaven, Great Western Trail, and Wingspan. He also tinkers on a classic mini when the kids go to bed.

In the spirit of our recently announced Sponsor X, The Hidden Genius Project, Aaron would like the Community to consider supporting some of his favorite causes: Camp STRONG and Gold4Kids.

  • Camp STRONG is a one-week overnight camp run every summer in Oklahoma for children with cancer and heart conditions, along with their siblings. You can donate by contacting the Director of Camp STRONG (who happens to be Aaron's wife) at clmanley@saintfrancis.com.
  • Gold4Kids is a 501(c)3 for pediatric cancer and great news: Aaron will match Community donations up to $500! 👏🏻 Just select "Manley4Kids" in the Donate to a team field (see here).

"Cancer sucks and children with cancer is even worse," he says. "Together, let's do something about it."
