Soooooo Lost - Cant Figure Out A Formula
Hey Everyone,
So glad I found this community!
I am currently trying to create a formula and am struggling severely with it!
I have multiple tasks that need to be performed. Task 1 may take X days, once its finished and only once its finished then Task 2 can begin and will take X amount of days and so on for multiple tasks.
I cant seem to figure out how to create a (cascading?) formula that would take into account ONLY business days and produce a SUM for how long all the tasks combined would take as ONE project.
My apologies if this is confusing or extremely simple. I look forward to being pointed in any direction!

Have you tried starting off with a template? From the home tab select Create New > Browse Templates. Then check the project sheet with dependencies and Gannt. The dependencies being enabled will automatically create those roll-up data fields for you. Every indented part of a task will roll up to the parent row.
IF you start off with one of those sheets, you can enter start and finish dates and the project will roll up... you can also create dependencies in the predecessor row tying the next task to the first.

In addition to what Mike shared, once you have either used the project template or turned any sheet into a project sheet (right click on any column --> edit project settings), you can also edit the work days section under the project settings to check only week days and to enter in your holidays that you want your project plan to take into account.
