"If approved" sends notifications for all automated instances, instead of the one row

Hi Smartsheet community,

I'm running into an issue where the automations I've set for "If approved" sends multiple notices to one requestor for ALL the automated set ups I've created, instead of just the single request they send in.

For example, image 1 shows all the automations I have set up for approvals (Automation Groups include BIG, Embrace, EnableIn, etc.).

Image 2 shows the detail of how the Approval notices should work-- it directly references the email of the requestor from the form for that specific group request. However instead of just receiving the one approval/denial notice, it sends an email from every Group as if that person requested for every single one.

Any ideas here? Thank you so much!

It sounds like you're using the same "Approval Status" column for all of your workflows, meaning that when this changes it triggers the second half of all of your workflows as they're all looking to the same place for "If Approved" or "If Declined".

To prevent this, use different approval values or add conditions after each approved or declined request:
