Hey everbody!
Is there a way to show the automatically generated number which will be created by the new form, on that form?
I hope I have written that understandable.
Kind regards,
Florian
Hi Florian,
Unfortunately, it isn't possible because Smartsheet creates the automatic number after the form is submitted. A possible workaround that could work but it depends on your specific use case. You could have Smartsheet automatically send out the number afterward with the help of Alerts & Actions.
Would that work for you?
I hope this helps you!

Skip the discussion on Method 1.
This is easiest if your AutoNumber is just a number (displayed) -- ie 003 not AA003. You'll need to convert the AutoNumber to a Number (using VALUE()) and then get the MAX() + 1 for that (as a number) and create the URL as discussed in the post.
Several (major) limitations to this, but many of them can be resolved. Since the URL is dynamic, users can't just click on the link they got last week.

For our workflow it was just "nice to have" and not mandatory.
So we`ll think about it.
Thanks a lot for your help guys, appreciate that!

Hello, I'm working through the writing formulas optional activity and in the 'Nested IF function - Progress Column' task it directs you to put in the following formula '=IF([% Complete]@row = 0, “Empty”)'. However, when I put this formula into the spreadsheet, '04a_Marketing Request Tracker - Formulas', I get an…
I have an automation that has a condition where I am looking at the column "LEA Interco Supporting Site(s)" and trying to find columns that have the value "Fort Loramie" in them. This works well when "Fort Loramie" is the first item listed in the cell, but it doesn't work when "Fort Loramie" is the second or third value in…
Have any of you created a Smartsheet that would show the savings for a project by the month? In other words, if I saved $1200 annually and the project ended in say March, then the savings would go $120 per month, Mar 2025-Feb 2026. I have done it on Excel sheets manually, but I think there should be a way to do it with…
