Hello,
Does anyone know how I can disable the “request a license” in Smartsheet? I know it can be done, just not sure how. Thank you!
Hi Dianna,
I got confused!
Yes, It's possible. Account Settings > Account Discovery > Uncheck the box
Hope that helps!
Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible at the moment, but it's a great idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
Have a fantastic week!

It cannot be done and this answer is wrong. Account discover is totally different.
SS wants to sell licenses and does not seem to care that its large corporate and business customers who may have hundreds of thousands of viewers can blow up admins with requests. Large organizations do not grant software this way and use request systems.
A means to disable this is sorely needed.
Hi @CraigPGH
I hope you're well and safe!
If I'm not mistaken, the answer is still correct, and I think you're confusing it with the Upgrade Dialog that free users will see.
The OP wanted to disable the requests that would get sent to the Admin of the account. (as I understood it)
Make sense?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

To add.
I agree that having a way to disable the upgrade message would be great.
Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.
Agree with this poster - even in a small organization, every single time I share a sheet with a new user, they submit a licensed user request. It is a complete waste of time to have to go decline their request and then go round and round with them via email on 'just create an account' because at that point, I have no idea what options they see, so I end up sharing the sheet with them again. I get that this is an upsell tactic but honestly it is more of a disincentive to purchasing more licenses.
I very much agree. It is misleading for most users, and while I understand that they want to push more licensing, those of us who manage access aren't going to buy more licenses to stop getting the emails.
I agree to it, we need a way to hide the Request License option. We are in UAT call and multiple PL's have raised this concern and in real time it is expected we will be bombarded with license requests.
Agreed. Our organisation has purchased a license and we have 5 staff who have have editorial permissions which is all they need for most things .. but everyone still gets the "Join your team by requesting a licence from your organisation" message. This is completely unnecessary and there should absolutely be the option to permanently disable this message.

Our users are noting that a specific column is not submitting the data they selected correctly. It is a dropdown column where you can only single select from the list. When checking the cell history, it is showing one entry for the incorrect item. While we aren't ruling out continuous user error, we have seen enough…
I created a new project in my PMO, when I tried to pick a contact there were very few listed 7 versus the 165 people in my org. I checked My Contacts and all of the contacts were listed. Do I need to link that somehow to my sheet? How would I do that? Second question, what is the best strategy to keep My Contacts updated…
