Automatically move a sheet within a sheet?
Hi.
So I have created a production sheet that displays all my projects and where they're at in its state (Phase 1 through Phase 5). For example:
Phase 1 Projects:
Project 1
Project 2
Phase 2 Projects
Project 3
Project 4
Phase 3 Projects
Project 5
Each "project" is a hyperlink. When clicked on, it sends the user to the corresponding project's smartsheet with its own set of tasks to complete.
My question is, is there a way to automatically move these projects down phases if I complete certain tasks from the project's own smartsheet?
Thanks!

Not sure I follow!
How would you like it to work? Checkbox that indicates the phase?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

No, sorry. Not what I was looking for. Just a clarification, Project 1 is a hyperlink to its own smartsheet where its own tasks. If certain tasks are completed, Project 1 from the overview smartsheet, should move down phases, depending on the tasks completed from within the project's smartsheet.

Do you return any values from the project besides the hyperlink on the sheet where you want to move link a rank of phases or a % complete column that could be used to sort the rows?
Also, having screenshots of what you're trying to accomplish, removing sensitive/confidential data on them, could really help grasping what you want to do here.

I hope this screenshot will suffice. For instance, Project 1 was completed and I want it to automatically be moved down to phase 2 below... also hoping Project 2 would be bumped up and not have a blank row above it haha

Also, I wanted to add when Project 1 is moved to Phase 2, only the 'task name' column should be moved, not the entire row (the assigned person, task category, status, completion % will all be different, return incomplete/not started, and show 0% completion, etc)

Hi @Angelo Hijada ,
hmm, I see no way to have the project row automatically move within the sheet. But you may consider using a report to show your projects sorted by phase.
As source you can use your existing sheet. The tricky part will be to get the sorting the way you want it. Think about the grey rows with "phase1" etc. and how they can always appear as first entry of the phase. An additional helper column could be useful.
Hope this helps

Ok.
It might be possible with a 3rd party service/integration or the Smartsheet API.
Is that an option?
Another option could be to use a VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH combination, but then we can't include the sheet's link.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
