SUM formula

Hi. I'm trying to sum cells in a sheet with functions. It returns with 0 instead of the correct number. What is the workaround for this?

Thanks Dan. That's awesome. It actually worked. I was able to come up with another workaround by adding the VALUE function, but yours is much better.
