Unable to edit dashboard with Admin rights
Hello all, I have added a user as an admin for a dashboard but she is unable to see the edit (pencil) button. Tried adding her as admin in the workspace but still doesn't work. Any idea?
We are on Enterprise plan.
Thank you.

Yes, unfortunately, (if I'm not mistaken) a license is needed to be able to edit a Dashboard.
The sheet Owner and Admins can add or edit dashboard widgets. A license is required.
More info.

Hi @firestorm
I hope you're well and safe!
Which Smartsheet plan do you and the user have?
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

Hello Andree, we are on Enterprise plan as mentioned.
-
Are you able to provide a screenshot from their perspective (at least of the top portion of the screen)?
-
I missed the Enterprise text or wasn't there when I read your post. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In any way, the user you've assigned Admin rights must also have a license to edit the Dashboard.
Does she have an Enterprise license too?

Hello Paul, as attached. User has admin access to the dashboard.
-
Hello Andree, do we need a license for users to edit dashboard?
-
You shouldn't need a license to be able to edit dashboards if you have admin permissions. Is there an option to edit if they click on the file button in the top right corner? Are they able to edit other dashboards?

Hi Paul, it's the same for other dashboards. @Andrée Starå is saying a license is required, seems like he's right.
-
@firestorm I see that.
@Andrée Starå Did they change that when they did the plan revamp? I could have sworn you didn't used to need a license. I thought it was the same as a sheet (at some point) and only depended on your permission levels?
-
Seriously, why would you need a licence to update the dashboard?
-
@firestorm Technically, if you create a widget then you "own" the widget. You need to have a license to own Smartsheet items. I hadn't thought about it that way before, but...
