Formula for counting if cell has RYG symbol
I need to count the total number of cells within a column if they have either Red, Yellow, or Green symbol. We also have the grey symbol, but that should not be counted. I am using this as a way to indicate the total number of active projects in our dashboard. I have tried =COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Green") OR(Status:Status, "Yellow") OR(Status:Status, "Red")

Try =COUNTIF(Status:Status, OR(@cell = "Green", @cell = "Red", @cell = "Yellow"))

@smartsheetuserucb1 If you want the individual count of each one, then you would need three separate formulas in three different cells.
=COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Green")
=COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Yellow")
=COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Red")
If you want it in one cell, then try something like this.
="Green "+COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Green")+", Yellow "+COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Yellow")+", Red "+COUNTIF(Status:Status, "Red")
This formula should display a response Green X, Yellow X, Red X
