Cannot update Dashboard data source on a metric widget
I have around 80 different metric widgets on a Dashboard I built. I was unable to change the data source when I copied and pasted them so I created them all from scratch. Now, the data source on several of them needs to change and I really do not feel like doing this all from scratch again. When I go into edit, click "Change" next to data source, then go select my new data, and hit "OK", nothing changes. From what I have seen online, this is the process. Am I incorrect in my process or am I missing a step?

Hi @SASardy
I hope you're well and safe!
Yes, that's the correct process. What happens? Doesn't the browser pop up? Could it be because you have so many? Try to do it in Incognito/Private mode.
Did that work/ help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Hello Andree!
The browser opens and everything seems to go as it should but the data just does not change. I have saved the sheet, refreshed, even closed and reopened it but nothing updates. I am unfamiliar with Incognito/Private mode so I will look into that and give it a try.
Thanks!

This was bedeviling me on a really skinny metric box until I accidentally hit my scroll wheel on my mouse while hovering after I attempted to change the data. Apparently, when you change the data source, it adds the new data underneath the old data. My metric box was too skinny to display it. I figured out you can scroll down to your data, and/or delete the old data to display what you're trying to display.

Thank you for sharing this! It's too bad any custom styling isn't preserved with the new data.
